One Pot Cajun Chicken Sausage Pasta.

Cajun Chicken Pasta is a spicy variation of a traditional dish with added sausage that everyone will love. With just a few ingredients and easy directions, you can make this recipe at home in no time!

This recipe is quick and easy to make, but it’s also packed with flavor. You can serve this dish as a main course or as an appetizer at your next party! It’s one of our favorite meals to make when we want something that is quick and easy. It’s also perfect for when you have company over because it can be made in big batches and everyone will love it! This is a delicious, spicy pasta dish that you can make at home.

This Cajun Chicken Pasta Recipe will have your family begging for more! It’s also a great way to use up leftover chicken, if you have some on hand. You can add your own spice level by increasing or decreasing the amount of Cajun seasoning and hot sauce.

Ingredients

You will need to gather the following ingredients:

  • Chicken breast
  • Pasta
  • Cajun seasoning (such as Tony Chachere’s)
  • Olive oil for cooking the pasta and chicken and vegetables

Directions

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions.
  • Chop onion and bell pepper, then saute in olive oil until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add chicken and cook until done, about 3 to 4 minutes per side (depending on thickness).
  • Season with creole seasoning or cajun spice blend of your choice (we used the homemade version below), add salt if needed, then cook for 1 minute more before adding pasta and tossing to combine everything together well.

Garnish and serve

Garnish with parsley or cilantro, or both. Squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over the top of your dish if you like. You could also squeeze in some fresh lime juice, orange juice, or even a touch of apple cider vinegar for extra flavor.

If you’d like to make your own creole seasoning, try this version: 3 tablespoons paprika 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon onion powder 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper 2 tablespoons chili powder 1 teaspoon black pepper You can also use a store-bought blend.

Tips

If you use a different type of pasta, you may want to adjust the cooking time.

If you don’t have Cajun seasoning, feel free to substitute another spice blend for it (like the Old Bay Seasoning in our Maryland Crab Soup).

Use any vegetables that are in season or on sale at your local grocery store. If there’s none available, try making this recipe with just meat and pasta!

Experiment with different types of cheese that you have in your refrigerator. Some good options include parmesan cheese, feta cheese, gouda cheese or cheddar cheese! Remember: you can never have too much cheese!

Feel free to add as many herbs as possible—they’re all delicious so they should be included in every recipe possible (especially if they taste good with chicken and pasta)! If there’s no fresh herbs around then dry ones will do just fine (but fresh always tastes better).

Use a variety of spices:

When cooking Cajun food, you can use any spices you like to create your own signature blend. For example, try using fresh chili powder or paprika instead of cayenne pepper. You can also try adding chopped garlic and onion powder for extra flavor. Experiment with different combinations until you find one that works best for your taste buds!

Use a variety of vegetables:

To make this recipe healthier, replace half the pasta with vegetables such as bell peppers or broccoli florets (or both!). This will provide more fiber and vitamins while still maintaining the flavor profile that everyone loves about Cajun cuisine—and it’s easy enough for anyone in the family to get excited about eating! If you want to make your pasta even healthier, try using whole wheat pasta or brown rice. You can also mix in beans for more protein and fiber. Use fresh ingredients.

There’s a reason that Cajun food is so delicious—it’s because it’s made with fresh ingredients! Be sure to use the freshest spices, herbs and vegetables you can find. If you’re able to grow your own garden or buy locally grown produce at your local farmers market, even better!

If you’re trying to make this recipe more healthy, try using less oil than the recipe calls for. This will help cut down on calories and fat without sacrificing flavor.

The Cajun Chicken Pasta is a spicy variation of a traditional dish that everyone will love. It’s easy to make and the ingredients are affordable! We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
